How it Works

Here at Shine On, not only do we love helping women look and feel good, we ultimately want to do good! We have a massive amount of love, kindness and compassion to share.

We strongly believe in bringing our Shine On community together to support our wider community by contributing to, or meeting a charity or individual's specific needs. We achieve this by raising funds through our sales and as well as encouraging individual donations.

Giving back allows Shine On and our Shine On members to be part of something bigger for the goodness of humanity.

"We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone" (Ronald Reagan)

OUR CURRENT COMMITMENT

Milla & Gabby's Starlit Hope

Milla Croy is an incredible 13 year old from Taranaki who is representing Team NZ at the Mr & Miss Diamond Australia International competition, which is focused on diversity and kindness. As a participant Milla needs to raise funds for a charity, and her chosen charity of choice is Gabby's Starlit Hope.

Gabby's Starlit Hope was started by Gabby Devine, another beautiful young girl from the Taranaki who also went to the same school as Milla, Sacred Heart Girls' College. Gabby was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2013 and spent a lot of time in hospital. From this experience and goodness of her own heart, Gabby wanted to bring some happiness to other sick children in hospital and came up with her very own 'boredom boxes' to gift to the children in hospital. Gabby initially started gifting the activity packs when she went for chemotherapy treatment at Starship Oncology Ward and to her local hospital in Taranaki. Over time she was able to spread her random acts of kindness to the other child oncology ward in Christchurch and to other Childrens' Wards around NZ. Gabby sadly passed away at 13 years of age in 2015 but her parents, Sarah and Roland (Roly) have continued on Gabby's Starlit Hope in Gabby's legacy. This wonderful charity additionally helps celebrate and fund Gabby's Boredom Buster bags, sick childrens' birthdays, presents, hospital stay entertainment resources, bravery packs, support packs for families, grocery, petrol vouchers and financial assistance for child cancer families, Radiation Boredom Boxes for every NZ child going through radiation as well as encouraging others to continue 'random acts of kindness'.
